Plumbing Leak Detection in San Antonio, TX

A bill that jumped, a meter turning with every tap closed, a stain that keeps spreading. We locate hidden leaks with pressure testing, acoustic listening and thermal imaging.

What is going on

Hidden leaks show up indirectly. A water bill jumps. A meter moves when nothing is running. A wall feels damp, a ceiling stains, floors warp, or mildew smell will not go away. The water could be coming from a supply line, a drain, a shower pan, a toilet seal, or an outdoor line. Opening walls to hunt for it is expensive and messy. Detection narrows the search so the repair opening is small and in the right spot.

What we check

  1. 01

    Meter test

Every fixture off, meter watched to confirm a supply leak exists.

  2. 02

    Isolation

House supply split from irrigation and outdoor lines to narrow the area.

  3. 03

    Pressure testing

Sections of pipe tested to find which one is losing pressure.

  4. 04

    Acoustic and thermal

Listening for leak noise and scanning for heat or moisture patterns.

  5. 05

    Moisture mapping

Walls, floors and ceilings checked to define the wet zone.

Your options

A

Interior leak locate

Hidden supply or drain leak inside walls or ceilings.

B

Slab leak locate

Leak under the foundation on a slab home.

C

Yard line locate

Main water line or irrigation leak between the meter and the house.

Before we get there

Write down your last few water bills and any recent jumps. Do a meter test: turn everything off for fifteen minutes and see if the dial moves. Clear furniture away from damp walls or warm floor spots so we can get tools on them.

The San Antonio angle

Most homes in our area are built on slab, with copper or PEX running through or under the concrete. Clay soil movement stresses those lines. Hard water wears copper from inside. Leaks under a slab often show up first as a warm spot on the floor or a meter that never stops. Finding them precisely is what keeps a repair from turning into a remodel.

Straight answers

Plumbing Leak Detection questions

How do I check for a leak myself?

Turn off everything that uses water and watch the meter for 15 minutes. If it moves, you likely have a leak.

Will you have to cut into my walls?

Only once we know exactly where the leak is, and only a small access opening.

Can you find a leak behind tile?

Usually. Acoustic and thermal tools see through finishes without removal.
